South Africa’s Kwesta talks Drake, Kwaito, on “Sway In The Morning” [WATCH]

Kwesta, the 28 year old South African rapper, has been getting a lot of attention since the release of his third studio album “DaKAR II” in February of 2016.
On the week of March 24th, 2017, Kwesta joined the “Sway in the Morning” podcast on Sirius XM and talked about the state of Hip Hop in Africa (South Africa in particular), Drake’s appropriation of foreign styles, and some of his socially conscious rap.
He also gave a short freestyle to prove his mettle.

In my opinion, Kwesta did a great job representing African Hip Hop.

His album, “Dakar II” is available on iTunes.

  2. I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both educative and interesting,
and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

The issue is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I came across this in my search for something regarding this.
