Kwesta, the 28 year old South African rapper, has been getting a lot of attention since the release of his third studio album “DaKAR II” in February of 2016.
On the week of March 24th, 2017, Kwesta joined the “Sway in the Morning” podcast on Sirius XM and talked about the state of Hip Hop in Africa (South Africa in particular), Drake’s appropriation of foreign styles, and some of his socially conscious rap.
He also gave a short freestyle to prove his mettle.
In my opinion, Kwesta did a great job representing African Hip Hop.
